Greetings Bugerion smile.gif

The first thing to try would be to check for any available Windows Updates and install them, then reboot and try installing VC 2008 again to see if it works, if not then try uninstalling anything related to .NET Framework 3.5 and then rebooting, then check for Windows Updates again and install all the .NET 3.5 updates and reboot and try again.

What OS version are you on? I have some Windows Update fixes that may correct all your issues, but I need to know if it's Vista or XP first.

i tryed it before didn't work
exile360
Alright then, please try the following:

  • Click the Vista Start button and click All Programs>Accessories
  • Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator and click Continue at the User Account Control prompt
  • Copy and paste the text in the code box below exactly as written into the black Command Prompt window and press Enter:
    CODE
    regsvr32 Wintrust.dll /s
  • Restart your PC and try updating again

If that does not work then try the following MS fix to see if it works:

If that fix failed, then please try downloading and running the MS Fix it tool on this page to see if that resolves the issue.

Please post back and let me know how it went, and if it's fixed, which of the fixes worked for you.

Thanks smile.gif

Hello again smile.gif

After running the MS Fix it option (the third one) and it failed, did you try it again using the "Aggressive" mode option? If not, then please do so, then reboot your computer and try updating once more.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks smile.gif

Please try this to see if it works:

Step 1

Please download the latest version of the Windows Update Agent for your system and save it to your desktop:

Step 2 For the 32 bit version:
  • Please copy and paste the following text exactly as written into notepad (not wordpad or any other text editor):
    CODE
    %userprofile%\desktop\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce
    DEL /Q /F %0
Once you've done that click on File and select Save As...
  • In the Save dialogue box click on the drop down menu next to Save as type and select All Files
  • Name the file Install.bat (the .bat extension is very important)
  • Save the file to your desktop and right click on it and select Run as administrator then click Continue at the User Account Control prompt.

Step 2 For the 64 bit version:
  • Please copy and paste the following text exactly as written into notepad (not wordpad or any other text editor):
    CODE
    %userprofile%\desktop\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe /wuforce
    DEL /Q /F %0
Once you've done that click on File and select Save As...
  • In the Save dialogue box click on the drop down menu next to Save as type and select All Files
  • Name the file Install.bat (the .bat extension is very important)
  • Save the file to your desktop and right click on it and select Run as administrator then click Continue at the User Account Control prompt.

Step 3

Restart your computer and run Windows Update again and check for updates to see if it works.

Wow, that's a LOT of 80070002 errors. We already ran the MS Fix it which was supposed to correct that issue sad.gif . You should also try the instructions in the Microsoft Tutorial here (click on Show all).

Once you've done that, see if Windows Update works now. If not, then proceed with the following:

Run the .NET Cleanup Tool by Aaron Stebner:
  • Download the .NET Cleanup Tool from here
  • Extract the files and double click the cleanup_tool to run it
  • Allow it to remove all versions of the .NET Framework
  • Reboot and try Windows Update again and install any updates it offers and reboot if needed
  • Check for updates again, and again reboot if needed afterwards, repeat until no further updates are offered

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks

There's something odd about it. I'm going to investigate and consult with some others and then I'll get back to you.

Thanks for being so patient smile.gif
Bugerion
Well thank you for being patient and i know problems cant get fixed fast also you try to solve it and other would just say ''reformat disc its the only solution'' like they always say.
exile360
If a person is willing, I try to work through a problem to its end. That way, not only do you avoid a reformat (which can be a real pain), but it also helps me to discover the solution to yet another elusive Windows problem so that next time it pops up for someone else I'll have a "quick fix" for it (assuming we find a solution to your problem) wink.gif .
exile360
Check the Enum Key:
  • Please download the attached zip file and save it to your desktop.
  • Extract it and double click the extracted batch file to run it
  • Once it completes a log will open in notepad, please copy and paste its entire contents into your next post.

If it's blank don't worry about it, just let me know. I expect it will be and I believe this may be part of the issue.Click to view attachment
Bugerion
It's blank should i be happy or sad?
exile360
I believe a bit of both sad.gif smile.gif . I think that's the cause of your issues, now I just have to find out how to correct it wink.gif .
exile360
I think I've got it, but I need to get some more info first:
  • Please download the attached zip file and save it to your desktop.
  • Extract the file and double click it to run it. A file will appear on your desktop called exsvc.txt
  • Right click on it and hover your mouse over Send To and select Compressed (zipped) Folder
  • Attach the exsvc.zip file to your next post.

says failed to import reg file
exile360
Alright, that sounds like a permissions issue. Please download the Microsoft Fix it tool on this page and save it to your desktop and install it and allow it to reset your permissions, then try double clicking the reg file you downloaded previously once more and then reboot to see if it fixes it.

Note: If you have any Limited user accounts on that PC they will no longer appear on the login screen, you will need to read the info on the page containing the Fix it tool and follow the steps detailed to correct it.
Bugerion
Didn't work sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif again same thing and that permision thing didn't even apear
Bugerion
I can put screenshot of what happens if you want
exile360
Given the situation there isn't much more I can do sad.gif . Is this the same system you posted about here? If it is, then I'd highly recommend you send a PM to AdvancedSetup and ask him to reopen the topic. He will be able to use tools and resources that I cannot to get your system fixed.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

Good luck smile.gif .
