Hi All,
Went to a bad web site last night and which immediately attempted to download tons of trojans and malware on to my computer. I had thought that Norton AV caught all of it but apparently there is still some stuff getting through. I tried to run my Malwarebytes software but I get an error that it cannot find mbam.exe. I tried to uninstall it seemed to uninstall successfully but it said it couldn't remove all associated files. I then tried to re-install a fresh version and even though it installed successfully, I still cannot find the executable file. I did a search on my system for the file with no results found.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks
Gerry

You'll need to get someone to assist you with this in the HJT forum.
Scan and post logs - read note at bottom in greenIf you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.
- Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now?
- If needed please post your logs in a NEW topic here: Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs
- When posting logs please do not use any Quote, Code, or other tags. Please copy/paste directly into your post and do not attach files unless requested.
- Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
- Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.
- Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.
- If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved.
- Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback.
- There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review
- NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.

Hi Thanks for the reply.
I actually paid Norton $100.00 to remove the malware remotely. But now I am having a whole slew of other problems. I'm going to get back in touch with them. Let me ask, was this a good thing or a bad thing to have them remove the malware? They were deleting .dlls and processes left-and-right and now I'm getting all kinds of funky errors.

Well you're more than welcome to post in the HJT forum or if you're reasonably certain that your no longer infected you can post in the PC Help forum and someone should be able to help you get it cleared up.

Hi Ron,
Thanks. I think the malware is pretty much removed. However, I will run a Malwarebytes log and see what happens. I have read all the prerequisites for posting to the HJT forum. If I find any problems, I'll just post there.
Thanks for you help, you guys are great.
