AdvancedSetup
Well maybe because no one is sure of what you're asking or stating. You tried to install or update WHAT 4 times?
If you're talking about updates for Malwarebytes not updating then please review the FAQs

If it's something else with your PC then please be a bit more descriptive and then hopefully we can assist you better.

Thanks.

It was Window Updates

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates, Failed Installed

Is this XP or Vista?

can you give more info.it will help anyone whos helping you.
failed windows updates is not a lot to go on.

go here http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdat...t.aspx?ln=en-us
then if you look to the right, you will see a box with clickable options.
one being review update history.
there you will find a list off failed or succeeded updates.
narrowing down witch ones are failing will help.

you might have the a copy of the update logs in your local temp files read them yourself if you wish.(dont post them unless asked) it may help you figure out why yourself otherwise at least say witch updates are failing & witch OS your useing.

This is what exacty I got.

Windows Updates

"Some updates were not installed.

Failed 4 updates

Error(s) found:

Code 646 Windows Update encountered an unknown error

Coide 643 Windows Update encountered an unknown error"
AdvancedSetup
Were these optional or critical updates? If they were critical then you should be able to contact Microsoft support directly and obtain support in fixing it.

I checked the http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdat...t.aspx?ln=en-us and it just opened my "windows updater" so I do not know why that happened but if you look in updater and click view update history it should tell you which updates failed and the name, when you click on it you should get a little box pop up with a explanation of what the update was and a link to it.
mbyuser
you tried that with firefox or I.E8?
AdvancedSetup
Sorry I had another browser open and grabbed the wrong link.

support.microsoft.com

Should have options to contact them.

I opened the forum up in IE8 and clicked your link, I get this page
Then it opens up my windows updater for me.

whoops double post. blink.gif
mbyuser
only guess it due to me useing xp and you useing vista.
mbyuser
ive been looking around a fair bit, this code is a very common one with vista.

just what updates are failing depends on the "fix it" soliution offered.

I.E without knowing what pitcular updates are failing,i cant say much that will help.
if some failed thou there should be red crosses not green lights.
you allready have a link if there crital updates.thou.
