Hello all:
I greatly appriciate all the hard work everyone here does to help each other out. I have tried to install malwarebytes on a PC running xphome. it installes right up to the point of updateing the it says it cannot find mbam.exe. I have searched for it and neither can I. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have slaved the drive and scanned and pulled off 32 infections all relating to the vundo virus. I haqve coppied <sp> a mbam.exe to a flash drive then names it mbam.com. but as soo as I try to run it it dissapears (literally). I know this is due to Vundo and probably a rootkit. all done in safe mode. i'M FRUSTERATED HERE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE FOR LOGS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP.

Just as an update I was finally able to get Superanispyware to install and run. it found 42 vundo infections. AVG thinks that windows system files are infections. I am hoping that SASW will get rid of the infections long enough for me to get AVG and Malwarebytes reinstalled.

You may have to go back in the HJK forum, I see you were there June 1st.. please follow these:
follow these instructions & post it in the HiJackLog Forum pleaseScan and post logs - read note at bottom in greenIf you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.
- Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now?
- If needed please post your logs in a NEW topic here: Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs
- When posting logs please do not use any Quote, Code, or other tags. Please copy/paste directly into your post and do not attach files unless requested.
- Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
- Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.
- Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.
- If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved.
- Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback.
- There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review
NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.

Yes I have been here before. ... I own a computer shop in Havasu Az. I found Rootkit mdrds with MS onecare that allowed me to finally install and update Mbam and it's now working fine. thanks anyway. I thought you might like to know that the vundo virus is now able to stop the creation of mbam.exe even in safe mode. this thing is getting way outa hand.
Thank you

There is a new recent version of the Vundo infection that is removing our files and registry entries. If you re-install it should be okay.
This is a "lo-fi" version of our main content. To view the full version with more information, formatting and images, please
