Isn't SUPERAntispyware Malwarebytes competitor?
Night_Raven
In a certain way I suppose it is. Although in another way both of them are actually partners in the fight against the forces of evi... I mean malware. smile.gif
Depends on the point of view I guess. smile.gif

I've come across threads online (mostly yahoo answers) about using superantispyware and a few other programs, I believe one being Malwarebytes.

Superantispyware, I have to admit, does sound like something fake, but it seems like many people on here use it and now seeing that you have a paid version, I am now feeling like its totally legit.

I already use AVG Internet Security, SpyBot, and Malwarebytes (free, but I am seriously thinking about buying it!). I was thinking about adding Superantispyware to the three?

What do you think? Just asking you because you seem pretty knowledgeable about it biggrin.gif

Yes, it's a very good program and quite legit. For most people I'd recommend just using one or the other in realtime (the paid versions) because they have a lot of overlap in their detections and if you want just use the other (free version) as an on-demand scanner to double check every once in a while to make sure your system is clean. MBAM is usually better at hitting the threats hard on the first run and killing their core, while SAS is good at eliminating traces that might be left over. They both detect very well, but SAS often has a bit more trouble removing the tougher nasties than MBAM does so I'd go with it personally (and no, I'm not just saying that because we're on MBAM's website, I'm actually speaking my honest opinion based on my experiences using the two programs). MBAM also updates a bit more frequently, but has FP's (false positives) more frequently than SAS, but then again, MBAM's FP's are often fixed within an hour or two (and sometimes only a few minutes). But as I said, they're both excellent tools and are both extremely effective against catching the crud that the big AV companies tend to miss.

Thank you very much for your response!!

I don't have a paid version of Malwarebytes yet but I am pretty sure that I will get it soon smile.gif

Would you recommend that I get Superantispyware too? As for the traces that you talk about, are they things that are already dead or whats the story on that?

Thanks again biggrin.gif
